Dr Anita Jacombs is an Australian-trained General Surgeon with expertise in laparoscopic and open Hernia Surgery, Complex Incisional Hernia Surgery and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction.

She is also an Academic Surgeon having done a PhD during her training on The Consequences and Prevention of Bacterial Biofilm Infection of Silicone Breast Implants. She has continued her research in biofilm infection of surgical implants and is investigating the outcomes of bacterial biofilm infection in hernia mesh.

Dr Jacombs has also been part of the clinical team that developed the Pre-operative use of Abdominal Wall Preparation with Botulinum toxin A for patients with large and complex ventral hernias to improve surgical outcomes. She is passionate in developing advanced clinical and operative skills and techniques to improve clinical and operative outcomes for patients with complex ventral hernias.
