Centenary Appeal

The St Luke’s Care Centenary Appeal was launched in 2019 to mark 100 years of St Luke’s Hospital and was to raise funding to support the transition of becoming Australia’s First Holistic Campus for the Ageing. The appeal is supporting the new initiatives such as:

  • Dementia Centre of Excellence
  • Wellness Centre
  • Dementia Care Nurses
  • Refurbishment of the Private Hospital and Lulworth House
  • Community programs

Bequests

Many people have chosen to generously support the important work of St Luke’s Care through a bequest to the Foundation from their estate. Over the years, these legacies, large and small, have enabled St Luke’s Care to undertake significant and longer term projects which benefit current and future generations of the St Luke’s Care community. Your Will is your opportunity to leave a lasting legacy by making a difference to a charity that aligns with your values.

The opening of St Luke’s Clinic in Hemsley House early in 2015 is an example of how a bequest has enabled us to provide ever-growing services in response to community need. Mr Ronald Johnson was a strong supporter of the St Luke’s Hospital Foundation and a resident of Trebartha Apartments, who on his passing left a bequest to the Foundation. His bequest provided the means to undertake much needed renovations of Hemsley House to address the maintenance of the building, and the refurbishment throughout. Today, Hemsley House is home to St Luke’s Clinic, Active Life Studio, medical consulting rooms and the physiotherapy gym.

By making a bequest in your Will, you can ensure that your gift to St Luke’s Hospital Foundation will help future generations and will leave a lasting legacy. As your Will is a legal document, it is important that you include the right wording to ensure your intention is clear. Our team can discuss this with you and provide support if required.

If you wish, you can specify how your bequest will be used, or you can leave it to St Luke’s Hospital Foundation to determine where your bequest is most needed within St Luke’s Care. We can support you through this process if you would like any further information about ways your bequest could be used within our organisation.

Contact the St Luke’s Hospital Foundation if you have any questions or to let us know you have left a gift in your Will.
